Sutton Place Physical and Aquatic Therapy offers Pilates in a private setting with certified pilates instructor Madelyn Freundlich.
Madelyn has worked with clients at the Vanderbilt YMCA and Asphalt Green, Upper East Side, on the reformer on a one-to-one basis and in small group classes. She carefully develops reformer sessions for each client based on client goals, strengths, and physical challenges, focusing on safety, alignment, and breath. Madelyn has a diverse fitness background and enjoys blending yoga, barre, and balance work into pilates sessions. Her continuing pilates education has broadened her teaching skills to other Pilates apparatus, including the Wunda Chair, the Arc, and the Tower. She enjoys working with clients of all ages and physical ability and brings energy and commitment to clients' achieving their health and fitness goals. Madelyn holds a Master’s degree in social work and public health. Our clientele includes children, business professionals, weekend warriors, and active seniors. All have one thing in common: building their strength, agility, and the mind/body connection and being a better version of themselves!

The Sutton Place Physical and Aquatic Therapy clinic is beautifully equipped with a Reformer, Tower, Wunda Chair, weights, resistance bands, balance boards, stationary bicycles, a treadmill, exercise machines, and other equipment.
For each client, Madelyn designs individualized sessions to meet each client's individualized goals. She carefully develops sessions for each client based on client interests, strengths, and physical challenges, focusing on safety, alignment, and breath. Madelyn has a diverse fitness background and enjoys blending elements of her certified training in yoga, barre, Pilates, and balance work into personal training sessions.
Sutton Place Physical and Aquatic Therapy also offers in-person and virtual Pilates sessions with Madelyn.
1:1 In-Person Pilates
Sutton Place Physical and Aquatic Therapy offers in-person equipment-based pilates (Reformer, Tower, Wunda Chair, and Arc). For those interested in mat pilates, Madelyn can accommodate those clients on the weekends.
1:1 Virtual Mat Pilates 1:1 and Virtual Duet Mat Pilates
Sutton Place Physical and Aquatic Therapy offers virtual one-on-one classes and duet (2 participants) classes that adhere to the classical Joseph Pilates method that emphasizes the core principles of breath, concentration, control, precision, center, and flow. Classes are customized to meet the goals, strengths, and challenges of each participant. For clients who do not have Pilates equipment at home, Sutton Place PT can offer a mat, Pilates ring, 9-inch ball, Yoga block, and mini bands for an additional charge.
